What is Jesus Campaign?

Jesus Campaign is a community-based mission every December, 17 to 23, where churches, organizations and volunteers reach a whole community with the Gospel and help new believers become disciples.

By Christian Mandates · October 2026

Jesus Campaign is a community-based mission run by Christian Mandates Organization. Every year from 17 to 23 December, teams join local churches and believers already in a community to reach it together with the Gospel, and to create pathways for people to know Jesus, become disciples and grow in their faith.

It is built on a simple conviction: the community belongs to God, and the Church must take responsibility for making Jesus known within it.

Jesus is the centre

Jesus Campaign may include medical outreach, welfare, skills development, school outreach and community engagement. These are not the primary mission; Jesus is.

We do not go into a community primarily to distribute materials, provide healthcare or organize activities. We go to preach Jesus: to proclaim the Word of God, call people to salvation, demonstrate the love of Christ, minister healing, equip believers, and create opportunities for people to encounter and follow Jesus.

Where there is a physical need, we respond where we have the capacity. Where there is a need for healthcare, we provide or facilitate it. Where there is a need for food or welfare, we give where possible. But all of these flow from one greater reality: we serve because we have been sent by Jesus, and we want people to know Him. Practical service must never become a substitute for the Gospel.

Why community-based?

Jesus Campaign is intentionally community-based rather than church-based. We do not come into a community to work through only one church or organization. We want to see the community come together:

  • A local church may provide discipleship and spiritual covering.
  • A Christian non-profit may provide healthcare.
  • Another organization may support logistics.
  • A community group may help with mobilization and local relationships.
  • Professionals may contribute their expertise.
  • Individuals may give, volunteer, pray, or provide accommodation, transport or publicity.

Different expressions. One mission. Jesus at the centre.

What happens during the week

  • Gospel and evangelism: proclaiming the Gospel and creating opportunities for people to encounter Jesus.
  • Crusades and Gospel gatherings: opportunities for large numbers of people to hear the Gospel and respond to Christ.
  • Prayer and spiritual ministry: room for prayer, healing and the work of the Holy Spirit as He leads.
  • Medical outreach: healthcare as an expression of Christ's love and an opportunity to serve.
  • Welfare and community care: food, clothing and other practical help where possible.
  • Believers' training: equipping believers with God's Word to become more effective witnesses and disciples.
  • Follow-up and discipleship: connecting people who respond to local churches for continued growth.

The role of partners

Partnership is at the heart of Jesus Campaign. We are not simply asking organizations to "come and help us"; we are inviting them to become part of what God is doing in the community. Partnership may include prayer, finances, healthcare, welfare, transport and logistics, publicity, volunteers, professional expertise, accommodation and hospitality, community relationships, access to schools and institutions, evangelism and follow-up, equipment and other resources.

A partner does not have to do everything. Every partner can take part at the level where they can contribute meaningfully.

Why local churches matter

We do not want to lead people to Christ and leave them without a spiritual home. People who respond to the Gospel need to grow in the Word, have fellowship with other believers, be discipled, and become disciples who make disciples. Jesus Campaign creates the opportunity for people to hear and respond; the local church nurtures, disciples and establishes them. That is why we seek churches that take an active part in the mission, not only attend its events.

The mission does not end at the campaign

Success is not measured only by attendance. We want to see people hear the Gospel, respond to Jesus, become disciples, grow in the Word, join a local Christian community, and become witnesses themselves.

The invitation

You may have a church, a ministry, a professional skill, resources, relationships, a healthcare team, a vehicle or a platform. You may simply have a heart that says, "I want people to know Jesus." There is a place for you.

Jesus is the message. The community is the mission field. Partnership is the pathway. Discipleship is the goal.
